The Philippine Statistics Authority Region VII celebrates the Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February 2020. This is the 30th year of the CRM with the theme “Shaping Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) By Enhancing New Trends in the 4th Industrial Revolution.” A Presidential Proclamation No 1106 was signed reaffirming the country’s commitment to achieve universal civil registration and improved vital statistics. This is in support to the Asia-Pacific Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade, 2015-2024 that every birth must be registered by 2024 through a well-functioning CRVS system. A CRM Standee will be displayed at the CRS Serbilis Outlet so that all clients can have the opportunity to take pictures signifying the “getting everybody in the picture” to capture all unregistered birth. The standee is also provided with CRM Information Brochures and materials.
In line with this 30th CRM, PSA Region 7 will spearhead activities such as hanging of CRM streamers, motorcade, conduct lectures on civil registration, information drive, participation to the mobile registration initiated by the Local Civil Registry Offices across the region, CRM quiz bee, TV & radio guesting among others.
The CRM is celebrated by virtue of the Presidential Proclamation No. 682 signed on January 28, 1991 by the late President Corazon Aquino declaring February of every year as the Civil Registration Month. This is to remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons and enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents.
