The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issues Memorandum Circular No. 2024-12 enjoining all agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and subnational levels to actively participate in and support the celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) in October 2024.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 "Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” the NSM is annually observed nationwide. The NSM aims to: 1) promote, enhance, and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of the society; and 2) elicit the cooperation and support of the general-public in upgrading the quality and standard of statistics in the country.

In October 2024, the 35th NSM will carry the theme “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation” which highlights the efforts in modernizing the statistical system through the adoption of digital tools and platforms to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility of statistics. Ultimately, empowering decision- and policy-makers, and other stakeholders with valuable insights for informed decision-making and policy formulation which are geared towards national economic and social development.

With this, PSA Region VII is encouraging the Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs) and the public to participate in the celebration of the 35th NSM. Several lined-up activities in the region for the month-long celebration includes conduct of NSM quiz bee, RSC Amazing Race, statistical trivia quiz, podcast, essay writing contest, TikTok dance challenge, infographics making contest, statistical training, information dissemination, statistical capacity building, statistical exhibits, and Regional Data Festival, among others.
