The Social Sector Statistics Service (SSSS), Income and Employment Statistics Division (IESD) in coordination with the Information Technology and Dissemination Service (ITDS), Systems Development Division (SDD), National Censuses Service (NCS) and Census Planning and Coordination Division (CPCD) conducted a pilot test to compare the use of PAPI (Paper and Pencil Interview) with CAPI (Computer aided Personal Interview) using the Survey Solutions in interviewing Labor Force Survey (LFS) sample households.
The province of Negros Oriental was chosen for the Pilot Test on LFS. Provincial Training on the conduct of Pilot Survey on LFS using Survey Solutions was undertaken last November 22-24, 2017 at Sierra Resort, Dauin, Negros Oriental.
The said training was spearheaded by the IESD and ITDS staffs from Central office and was participated by two (2) personnel from RSSO VII who will serve as the headquarters, six (6) personnel from Negros Oriental wherein four (4) of them serves as supervisors and eleven (11) hired Statistical Researchers to augment the enumeration. Data collection using both PAPI and CAPI will be conducted simultaneously on 27 November to 15 December 2017, including Saturdays and Holidays.
Additional questions were added to the Integrated Survey of Households (ISH Form 2) questionnaire. In the Economic Characteristics section, questions for Own-Use Production in the Last Seven Days was added which was placed in the columns 31 to 49. This leaves the ISH Form 2 with 7 pages instead of 4-page
s questionnaire.
The objective of the pilot test is to determine the option of using a better platform of CAPI in the data collection of the LFS. The latest platform being used in CAPI is the CaDACs.
