The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office despite the threat of COVID-19 pandemic still pushed a face to face activity which is the 2021 Mid-Year Performance Review. This is a regular undertaking of the office which aimed to assess on the performance and unmet targets for the first semester. On her welcome address, the Chief Statistical Specialist emphasized the key to improve one’s performance in particular and the office in general could only be achieved through dedication, commitment and hard work. Furthermore, she also emphasized that timeline should be strictly observed and Phil-Awards as the guiding hand book be religiously followed. She added that there’s no reason in the Year-End Performance Review become successful if the Mid-Year activities will be put in place and finely executed.

The activity was held on 22 - 23 July 2021 at Coco Groove Beach Resort, Tubod, San Juan, Siquijor with participants who include all regular staff and Contract of Service Workers (COSWs) who greatly helped and contributed in the monthly, quarterly and semi-annual submission of reports.

The serenity and ambiance of the chosen venue was apt for exclusivity, right place for discussion and discernment of good ideas. Moreover, the place was very safe and conducive to learning. With the threat of corona virus spread which may infect one another, minimum health standard and safety protocol are strictly followed as per guidelines from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) of Siquijor province.

The highlights of the entire activity were the following: Presentation of Accomplishments/Unmet Targets for the 1st Semester 2021 by Division/Unit, Workshop and Presentation of PW Form 1, Revision of the 2nd Semester 2021 work Program and Presentation of Output PW Form 2, Discussion of the updated 2021 Workload Analysis based on the revised work program and Presentation of output PW Form 4, Discussion on Issues and concerns of the Budget Utilization aspect of each program project and/or activity, List of challenges/Setbacks/Issues per Activity and Suggested Solutions, Review, Updating and Revision of the QMS Processes Organizational Opportunity and Action Plan (ORAP) and RRAP, and Presentation/Identification of Best Practices and Innovations by Division/Unit (Statistical, Civil Registration, Admin and Finance, PhilSys and PPA).

The two-day activity was a successful one and can be best described as the product of well coordination and cooperation of every committee created from the preparation of the venue to the conduct of the different workshops and reporting whose members in every unit/division actively participated and showed interest and enthusiasm.

At the last day in the later part of the session was the team building activity whom everyone feel so much fun and enjoyment as different games been done by the assigned host team which tested one’s skills and ability through minds’ greatness and sharpness.

Lastly, was the awarding and recognition of regular employees and Contract of Service Workers (COSWs) who have perfect attendance and never experience late in coming to the office during the first semester of 2021. This was a gesture of praising and giving due recognition and effort to every employee on his/her effort that have shown dedication as good public servant.
