PSA Siquijor conducts Re-echo Training on GAD Concepts and SOGIESC and Basic Microsoft Excel and 2022 Mid-Year Performance Review Sessions
The activity was spearheaded by Chief Statistical Specialist, Aurelia M. Canda. CSS Canda delivered her message and stressed the importance of re-echo trainings and review sessions in the realization of PSA’s plans and objectives. On the other hand, Registration Officer II Rizalyn Postrado laid out the overview and objectives of the training and review session which is to be able to review and appreciate the PSA Accomplishments for the 1st semester 2022.
On the first day, Accountant I Lorlyn Angot, discussed the Gender and Development (GAD) Concepts and SOGIESC. She mentioned the history of GAD, its different concepts and the different SOGIESC in our current environment. The second speaker for the morning session is CSS Canda, she presented the Review of the 2022 Targets against 1st semester 2022 Accomplishment (OPCR).
In the afternoon session, Philsys Focal Person COSW John Claude Dag-uman presented the Review of the Targets against 1st Semester 2022 Work Program. He mentioned the different projects, its date of submission and some reasons as to why deadlines were not met for some projects. On the other hand, Admistrative Aide VI Jhon Lloyd Dagohoy and Statistical Analyst Betsy Pearl Achay, presented the Revised 2nd Semester 2022 Work Program and the Updated 2nd semester 2022 Workload Analysis, respectively.
Regional Director Ariel E. Florendo delivered his message during the 2nd day of the activity. He encouraged everyone of purpose of working as a public servant. He also reiterated the importance of statistical data as this would help in achieving the goal of improving the quality of life of all Filipinos.
The 2nd day is jam-packed with activities. First of the many activities is the Re-echo training on the Basic Microsoft Excel. The training was conducted by Philsys ISA I COSW Dean Alester Malolot. He gave detailed steps on the basic excel formulas that are useful but haven’t normally use by some end users. He also showed an actual example of these formulas as part of the training workshop. The 2nd activity is the presentation of QMS Processes Organizational Opportunity and Action Plan (ORAP) and RRAP which was discussed by SuSS Maghanoy. He mentioned the different classification of risk that can be found in the office and actions that should be taken to prevent such risk to happen.
In the afternoon session, Statistical Specialist II Eric Balios discussed the Field Awards Manual for Statistical Operations. He mentioned the corresponding points for every statistical data submitted ahead of time, on time and delayed submission with its required attachments. Meanwhile, presentation/identification and documentation of Best Practices and Innovations was presented by Registration Officer I Anthony Ontolan. In addition, Assistant Statistician Jay Cabaron discussed the List of Identified Challenges/Setbacks/Issues per Activity and Suggested Solutions. He mentioned the different challenges that were faced during the 1st semester of 2022 and the suggested solution to prevent these problems to occur in the future.
To wrap the session, an awarding ceremony was held. Statistical Specialist II (SS II) Jill Bernadette Abing, ISA I COSW Jerlyn Macalisang and SA Betsy Pearl Achay was awarded for their commendable deed for no tardiness, undertime, half-day absences and leave for the period January to March 2022.
The workshop ended with a short message and a closing remark by SSII Jill Bernadette Abing. She thanked everyone for their participation for the success of the activity and encouraged to stay safe in the face of challenges.
The two-day activity ended with a photo session.
