Refresher Training on Basic Civil Registration and Its Related Laws was part of the activities of the month-long celebration of 32nd Civil Registration Month.  This was scheduled on 9 February 2022 at GAD Building, Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor with the target participants such as PSA personnel (regulars/COSWs), Statistical Researchers/ Field Interviewers of the different projects and LCRO staff in the province.

The training was primarily aimed at equipping personnel who are in front line service of the provincial office and of the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs).  They were provided with the right information on salient features of civil registration, be able for them to disseminate knowledge especially when they are on field or assigned as officer of the day at the provincial office.  It is believed that trainings in this kind, forms part of the continuing education to be equipped in imparting knowledge to others.

This year is unique because the trainers were the six (6) Local Civil Registrars aside from the undersigned who also served as one.  They were able to share their first hand experiences on their assigned topics. 

There were concerns, queries and clarifications raised like on the clerical and typographical errors in the birth records and other civil registry documents.  Other concerns addressed were on the processing of Late Registration particularly on out of town births.  Legitimation and RA 9255 process were also tackled.  During the open forum, all the Municipal Civil Registrars contributed in answering the concerns.  It was a lively discussion.   Everyone showed their participation by presenting their concerns for proper actions.

The said activity was also graced by PSA RSSO-7 Regional Director, Engr. Ariel E. Florendo with his message and showed his appreciation in holding undertakings like this because it equipped personnel on civil registration, thus, equipped to entertain concerns especially in times when personnel are on field.
