Number of Vital Events in Siquijor, First to Third Quarter 2018

Siquijor registered a total of 874 live births for the three quarters of 2018, of which 456 or 52.17% constituted male births and 418 or 47.83% were female births.  On the other hand, the deaths registered a total of 619, with 332 or 53.63% were male deaths and 287 or 46.37% comprised female deaths.  Number of marriages during this time registered at 283 occurrences.

Registered live births recorded in Region VII-Central Visayas totaled to 94,889 for the three quarters of 2018.  Siquijor accounted for a total number of 874 registered live births, which is 1.0% in the total registered live births in Central Visayas.  Siquijor has the lowest number of live births registered in the whole region (Figure 2).

Distribution of Live Births by Sex

Central Visayas is merely dominated by males, which registered at 49,928 or 52.62% while 44,961 or 47.38% represented the female registered births.  Meanwhile, Siquijor posted 456 or 52.17% males born compared to females with 418 or 47.83% in the first three quarters of 2018.(Figure 3)  

Municipality of Siquijor has the highest number of registered live births

Among the six (6) municipalities of Siquijor, Municipality of Siquijor posted the highest number of registered live births for both sexes, male and female, at 257 or 29.4%.  This was followed by the Municipality of Lazi which recorded at 191 or 22%.   Meanwhile, Enrique Villanueva recorded the lowest number of live births at 54 or 6.2%, in nine-month time of 2018. (Figure 4)

Siquijor recorded 619 death occurrences in the first to third quarter of 2018

Region VII accounted for 33,956 deaths in 9 months’ time of 2018 while 619 or 2% of which were deaths occurred in the province of Siquijor.  Siquijor being the smallest province in the region proportionally had the lowest number of death occurrences. (Figure 5)

Of the 619 death occurrences, 332 or 53.6% constituted the male deaths, while female deaths recorded at 287 or 46.4%.

Siquijor for 1st to 3rd Quarter 2018 recorded a total of 283 marriages or 1% in the total marriages in Central Visayas

A total of 283 marriages were registered for the 1st to 3rd Quarter 2018 in Siquijor.  Among the six (6) municipalities in the province, the Municipality of Siquijor posted the highest number of marriages at 81 or 29% followed by the Municipality of Larena at 56 or 20%.  While the Municipality of Enrique Villanueva recorded the lowest number of registered marriages with 18 or 6%.
