The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office VII personnel attended the Philippine Identification System Step 2 Registration Orientation last 07 May 2021 conducted by the RSSO VII PhilSys team at the PSA - RSSO VII Conference Room. The activity is set to orient the participants of the operational procedures of Step 2 Registration, equip them with the ideas and knowledge to answer the public queries, capacitate them to involve in the implementation of PhilSys, and solicit insights and strategies from them for the success of this historical undertaking.

In accordance to health and safety protocol, the orientation was scheduled into two (2) batches to observe social distancing, morning and afternoon sessions. This is also to provide a conducive learning environment where participants are able to grasp the discussions. Similarly, with less participants, the trainers are able to address the queries accordingly.

The speakers of the said activity, Mary Clare C. Coronado (Administrative Assistant I), Carmela A. Presores (Information System Analyst I -PhilSys) and Hargee L. Mariano (Administrative Aide VI), headed by our Chief Administrative Officer and the Regional PhilSys Focal Person, Ms. Edwina M. Carriaga enthusiastically discussed the substantial topics to the participants. Moreover, PSA-RSSO VII Regional Director, Engr. Ariel E. Florendo graced the activity with his inspirational message. RD Florendo encouraged everyone to be part of the project as he stated that “regardless of your position or status, your suggestion/recommendations are vital for the success of the Philippine Identification System”.

A series of presentations such as the journey of the PhilSys in RSSO VII, the status of the registration center, Navigation of Registration Client System, and tools and monitoring for step 1 and step 2 registration are infused to provide an informative and updated report. Furthermore, pre-test and post-test were also conducted to evaluate the knowledge and learnings of the participants from the activity.

In the course of the discussion, questions were raised by the participants and the speaker answered them correspondingly. It was a two-way sharing of ideas wherein the participants also suggested strategies that could possibly help the concerns in the registration centers. Relatively, to document the suggested strategies, RSCIII or Recommendation and Suggestions for Continual Improvement and Implementation for Individual was introduced. The participants were group by unit, record and submit their recommendations or innovations in the arising problem or concern in the operation of the PhilSys.  

As the activity unfolds, Chief Statistical Specialist in Statistical Operations and Coordination Division, Engr. Leopoldo P. Alfanta, Jr., delivered his closing speech and suggested that there should be another round of orientation since PhilSys is dynamic in their plans and decisions which was also agreed by the PhilSys team in the regional office.
